Guests at the luxe Nobu Ryokan Malibu will have a new way to unwind and relax this summer, thanks to the hotel’s recently-launched partnership with HigherDOSE. As part of the partnership, guests will have access to two of the wellness tech brand’s most popular products — their Infrared PEMF Mat and their Infrared Sauna Blanket — to use at leisure in their rooms. The goal: to offer access to HigherDOSE’s “high-tech longevity” devices in the comfort and privacy of Nobu’s oceanside suites.

HigherDOSE

While HigherDOSE has worked with wellness centers and spas in the past, Nobu Ryokan Malibu is one of only a handful of hotel partners for the brand (other locations include 11 Howard, and select 1 Hotel and Montage properties). Indeed, Nobu Malibu feels like an ideal setting for the HigherDOSE recovery products, as the 16-room, Japanese-inspired property is known for being a tranquil getaway in bustling Southern California.

On a recent visit, guests were sprawled out on their private balconies on the HigherDOSE PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy) mat, which uses gentle waves to work with your body’s natural magnetic fields. Unlike a facial device or massage gun, the pulsations are barely noticeable, and when paired with the lapping waves of the Pacific Ocean down below, the mat was a perfect way to unwind under the Malibu sun.

HigherDOSE

HigherDOSE says its PEMF mat helps with everything from easing sore muscles and stress, to boosting energy and mood (the on-demand room service from Nobu Restaurant next door certainly helped as well).

The infrared sauna blanket, meantime, was a great way to wind down the day following a light workout and jog on the sand (Nobu Ryokan guests have private access to the beach, in addition to a private pool and full gym on the premises). Using the power of infrared heat, the blanket is used by many guests to detox, though it also promises to help speed up muscle recovery and improve circulation for better skin health and more restful sleep.

In addition to requesting HigherDOSE products in-room, guests at the Nobu hotel can also request the new Ryokan Wellness Package, which includes a 90-minute massage, and an at-leisure bathing ritual with HigherDOSE bath salts (a.k.a. their “Serotonin Soak“) which are yours to take home. Per the brand, the bath soak is formulated with magnesium flakes that help to “relax your mind, boost your mood, and recalibrate your system.”

Nobu Ryokan Malibu

In a press release, Nobu Ryokan Malibu says the new partnership extends the property’s reputation as “an iconic destination for leisure travelers that provides guests the perfect, intimate oasis for self-care” while maintaining “elevated luxury and unmatched levels of exclusivity.”
