Official: Beşiktaş confirm signing of Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City

Turkish Süper Lig giants Beşiktaş have officially announced the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.

In a statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the club confirmed that an agreement had been reached with both Leicester City and the player.

The Super Eagles’ midfield enforcer has signed a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, which ends his eight-year spell with the English side.

Besiktas Announce Signing of Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi
Via their social media page, Beşiktaş revealed that the total transfer fee paid to Leicester City amounts to €8 million:

“An agreement has been reached with the club and the player regarding the transfer of professional footballer Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi. A 3+1-year contract has been signed with the player. A total transfer fee of €8,000,000 will be paid to Leicester City Football Club Limited.”

The Nigerian star had earlier completed his medical examinations in Istanbul this week, with the announcement initially delayed due to the club’s UEFA Europa Conference League commitments.

Ndidi’s move sees him join fellow Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen in Turkey, with the striker recently sealing a record-breaking €75 million switch to Galatasaray.

The pair are set to renew their on-pitch rivalry in one of the country’s most anticipated fixtures.
