Mary J. Blige is returning to Lifetime! The award-winning singer has partnered with the network to turn another one of her classic songs into a film.

The movie inspired by Mary J. Bligeā€™s 2001 song of the same name, will debut in 2025 as part of the networkā€™s Voices of Lifetime slate, per Variety.

Previously, the singer and Lifetime collaborated on ā€˜Real Loveā€™ and ā€˜Strength of a Woman,ā€™ both inspired by her songs of the same names.

Variety reports that actors Ajiona Alexus and Daā€™Vinchi will headline Mary J. Bligeā€™s, ā€˜Family Affair.ā€™ Both Alexus and Daā€™Vinchi previously appeared in Mary J. Bligeā€™s, ā€˜Real Loveā€™ and ā€˜Strength of a Woman.ā€™

Mary J. Bligeā€™s, ā€˜Family Affairā€™ marks another collaboration for Ajiona Alexus and Daā€™Vinchi, who also star in the Starā€™z ā€˜BMFā€™ series.

Blavity reveals Jordan and John Davis of Davis Entertainment will return to executive produce the film. Bruce Miller and Milana Edwards-Brooks will serve as co-producers.

ā€œKendra and Ben move out of the city in hopes of finally building a life together. With all their family around and inserted in their lives, tensions rise as they struggle with fertility issues and Kendra tries to find her footing with Benā€™s son Miles,ā€ as stated in the official logline.

In addition to ā€˜Real Loveā€™ and ā€˜Strength of a Woman,ā€™ the singer has executive produced the 2020 film ā€˜The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospelā€™ and portrayed Betty Shabazz in the 2013 film ā€˜Betty and Corettaā€™ at LIfetime.

Blavity states that both ā€˜Real Loveā€™ and ā€˜Strength of A Womanā€™ attracted over 6.4 million viewers and ranked as the top entertainment telecast on cable for two consecutive Saturdays.
