Olympic Cycling Time Trial: Start times and how to watch live as US triathlon phenom Taylor Knibb goes for Paris 2024 glory

The triathlon action at Paris 2024 may not start until next week, but there is significant swim/bike/run interest before that at the Olympic Games as US phenom Taylor Knibb goes for cycling glory today (Saturday July 27).

The brilliant 26-year-old prodigy has carried all before her over middle distances in the past couple of years, winning a pair of IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships and starring on the T100 stage as well.

But Knibb has also put her incredible bike talents to good use in the sport of cycling too – netting a spot on the US team for the individual time trial at Paris 2024.

Taylor secured her place for Paris by winning the US Time Trial Championship in May with a brilliant effort in Charleston, West Virginia.

The hot favourite for gold though is Knibb’s US team-mate Chloe Dygert at 4/6 (Sky Bet, UK) with Ellen van Dijk of the Netherlands next best at 7/2. Knibb meanwhile is a 10/1 shot to claim a medal, and 50/1 for gold.

Start time and how to watch live

The action in France gets under way at 1430 local time – which is 0830 Eastern Standard Time in the United States and 0530 PST if you are watching on the West Coast. In the UK, the race starts at 1330 BST.

The action in the French capital will be available to watch via media rights holders, which vary from country-to-country. In the United States NBC will broadcast the action, while in the United Kingdom, the racing will be available on BBC Sport. Discovery Eurosport will provide coverage across Europe.

Additionally, in France the racing will be live on France Télévisions, with German viewers able to watch the race on ARD/ZDF. CBC will provide coverage in Canada.

Elsewhere, the race will be available on Nine in Australia, Globo in Brazil, Fuji TV/NHK/Nippon TV/TBS/TV Asahi/TV Tokyo in Japan, SKY NZ in New Zealand and SuperSport in South Africa.

Individual time trial course

The race today will start and finish by the golden Port Alexandre III bridge and in between those moments the cyclists will cover 32.4km in their bid for Olympic Games glory.

In terms of iconic sights, the field will pass Notre-Dame twice, while the brutal Vincennes forest will provide the greatest test of their skills.
