Chapter 162 took a huge turn when Aqua decided to sacrifice it all to secure Ruby’s future. For this, he stabbed himself and pushed himself and Hikaru underwater.

This article will deal with all the available spoilers in chapter 162 of Oshi no Ko, so for those who’re not up to date with the manga, kindly be cautious.

What Will Happen in Chapter 162?

The spoilers from chapter 162 revealed both Hikaru and Aqua submerged in water. There is also a visual of Hikaru being dragged down the water by many mysterious hands, one of which was identified to be Gorou’s.

As he sank, we got to know more about what went on in Hikaru’s mind. His apparent obsession with Ai is what caused him to have the deranged thought that killing Ruby would somehow bring him closer to Ai (incomprehensible, but that’s what went on in his mind).

Meanwhile, we got to see Aqua floating, with his stomach bleeding out. He was nearing his death due to the lack of air, and he finally began to accept his death. In those final moments, he thought of all his actions in his life, as Aqua, and then thought of Ruby and said, “This time, I’ll go before you”.

Shockingly enough, the chapter ended with Crow girl’s appearance. She was floating above the water and looking down on Aqua. Considering the mysterious aura around her, would it be possible that Aqua would survive?

What Happened in Chapter 161?

Chapter 161 began with Aqua facing Hikaru with a knife in his hand. Here, Aqua spoke of how Hikaru was a deranged man who was somehow fixated on murdering everyone who could potentially surpass Ai. For this reason, he brainwashed everyone around him and stole lives.

After this, Hikaru asked Aqua if he was going to kill him with the knife. He said that would be okay; however, Ruby would have to live her life as the sister of a murderer, which would severely cost her career as an idol.

Hikaru also made it clear that the media and the public do not want the truth, and for that sake, they’d milk Ruby’s story of having a murderer as a brother to the maximum. Hikaru then said Aqua should have plenty of other reasons to live: to fall in love, hang out with friends, and follow his dreams. Aqua agreed to this.

Aqua said he wanted to become a surgeon, he wanted to respond to Arima’s feelings, he wanted to go to the beach with Himekawa again, and finally, he wanted to see Ruby perform at the dome.

He considered all of this, and yet he decided to go with the option that secured Ruby’s future. For this, he decided to take Hikaru down with him. He stabbed himself and then pushed himself and Hikaru into the ocean. This way, he hoped that the media would take the narrative where Hikaru stabbed Aqua and that way, Ruby wouldn’t have to be the sister of a murderer.

Will Ruby Die?

So far, nothing can be said for certain. With all the existing information, we know that Aqua has pretty much accepted his own death. He seems content with it so long as it’ll protect Ruby. The one thing that throws us off his Crow Girl’s sudden appearance at the end of the chapter. If she does nothing more than observe, then it’s safe to assume that Aqua will die.
