Our Official Playoff Prediction: Vikings at Rams

Minnesota lost to the Detroit Lions by a score of 31-9 last Sunday night, the clubā€™s first loss since October. The defeat cost the Vikings homefield advantage throughout the postseason, handing the honor to Detroit.

This Monday, the Vikings are on the road (in Arizona) to battle the Rams, a squad that flipped a 1-4 start to the season into a 10-7 record and NFC West crown.

The writers at VikingsTerritory predict Minnesota will advance to the Divisional Round of the tournament.

Writers nearly unanimously chose the Vikings, evidently confident that the stinky loss in Ford Field wasnā€™t a trend.

In Week 18, Dustin Baker most accurately predicted the outcome of Lions-Vikings. He forecasted Minnesota to lose by a score of 30-27, and the Lions won by 22.

The Vikings are favored to prevail by three points over the Rams, and if so, Minnesota would embark on the Divisional Round of the postseason, taking on the Lions, Eagles, Buccaneers, or Commanders.

USA Todayā€™s Tyler DragonĀ picked the Vikings over the Rams, 28-25. ā€œThe Rams stunned Minnesota in Week 8. Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp combined for 12 catches 157 receiving yards and one touchdown. This time around, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson have big-time performances as the Vikingsā€™ offense gets back on track. Jefferson produced a game-high 115 receiving yards the last time these two teams met,ā€ he wrote.

Minnesota hasnā€™t won two playoff games in the same season in 37 years.

The game will be held in Glendale, Arizona after the NFL moved the venue due to Southern California wildfires.
