Palworld: A Guide On How To Level Up Pals And Improve Them
Unlike a certain Nintendo franchise, the Pals in Palworld do not evolve but they do level up. Hence, here is a complete guide on how to level up Pals
Published less than a week ago, the latest open-world survival and crafting game that has been released for the gaming world to explore is Palworld and it is gaining a lot of popularity quickly, despite being in the early access stage of development. It is a game based on going out on adventures with your “Pals” who are different types of creatures with various abilities. These Pals have to be caught after fighting them in the wild world, then trained and labored for doing work at your base and fighting with other creatures for later. There are over 100 Pals currently available in the game and once you catch them, you can add them to your Palbox for later usage.
Now, as similar as Palworld is to the beloved Nintendo franchise, Pokemon, the Pals in the game cannot evolve and turn into different creatures of the same Elemental type. Instead, there is a system of leveling them up to unlock new skills for Work Suitability and new moves for fighting. However, how exactly do you do that? Hence, here is a complete guide on how to level up Pals in Palworld.

As mentioned before, Pals in Palworld cannot evolve but that does not mean that they are “static” and stay the same forever. This means they can improve their skills and abilities by fighting with you against other Pals and working around the base, doing tasks they specialize in. This can allow them to learn new moves for fighting and learn new tasks to do around the base. Not only that, but this will also increase their overall stats like Attack, Defense and Work Speed.
This whole process is what makes them “level up”, so how to level up Pals? There are 3 different methods to do that, which are discussed in detail as follows:Â
Manual Labor Method
The first and foremost way to level up Pals is as simple as making them do the things they are made to do! Here are some specific strategies on how to level up Pals in Palworld:
Make your Pals do more tasks around the base, based on their Work Suitability.
Whenever you go out into the world to capture new Pals, take your lower level Pals with you so when you fight with them, they can level up.
Pals can out level you, so when going on Boss fights, make sure to take a Pal with the same level or lower level than your Character Level so the Level Sync feature in a player’s Party does not mess up the leveling up system.
Ensure that the Sanity Level of your Pals are good because if they aren’t feeling well they will not work and just idle around, resulting in their level not increasing.
Statues of Power Method

The second way to level up Pals is by getting a Statue of Power at your base and using Pal Souls to level up your Pals. To craft a Statue of Power, you’ll have to reach level 8 in your Character Level. You’ll also have to spend one Ancient Technology Point to craft the item besides getting the resources needed. Here are the resources you’ll need to craft a Statue of Power:Â
100 Stone – Can be collected by mining rocks around the world.Â
10 Palladium Fragments – Can be collected by mining Palladium veins or nodes and on the ground.
Once you do have the Statue of Power, you need to increase your overall Catch Power as a Character by using Lifmunk Effigies, which you can find from statues located all over the world. Other than that, you’ll also need to collect and spend Pal Souls to level up your desired Pals. You can find Pal Souls scattered all over the world randomly, from random chests or specific Pals like Cawgnito, Nox and Tombat. Using the Statue of Power to level up your Pals will increase their level, HP and stats. This helps them learn new moves along with unlocking new abilities.Â
You can even reset the stats of your Pal at an increased cost which is honestly a waste, so it is not advisable to do so. Only level up your Pal at a Statue of Power when you’re sure of it. However, you will get your Pal Souls used for the upgrade refunded back to you when the Pal is reset.Â
Pal Essence Condenser Method

The last and third way to level up Pals is by getting the Pal Essence Condenser at your base. It is the most efficient way to level up your Pals and create the most powerful Pal for fighting. To craft a Pal Essence Condenser, you’ll have to reach level 14 in your Character Level. You’ll also have to spend two Ancient Technology Points to craft the item besides collecting the resources needed. Here are the resources you’ll need to craft the Pal Essence Condenser:
20 Palladium Fragments – Can be collected by mining Palladium veins or nodes and on the ground.
50 Ingots – Can be crafted by combining one Coal and one Ore.Â
5 Ancient Civilization Parts – Can be collected by beating Bosses or by finding them from random Chests.
Once you do craft the Pal Essence Condenser, you can use it to level up your desired Pal, but beware, it is a sacrificial process. To use the Pal Essence Condenser, you need to choose a Pal with good stats and Passive Skills. Then, you need to get other Pals for sacrificing, which are the same species of Pal you are upgrading. For example, to create a leveled-up Cattiva, you’ll need to sacrifice more Cattivas. When you’re done condensing your Pals, you will have a Pal with increased HP, Attack, Defense and Work Speed.Â
Hence, make sure to choose the best Pal to upgrade and gather enough sacrificial Pals because each time you upgrade, the number of sacrifices doubles in quantity! The quantity of sacrificial Pals begins with 8 and goes all the way up to 64, so be very cautious when choosing which Pal to upgrade. It is advisable to not use the Pals you will need for work around the base and in your Ranch to gather resources.Â
Conclusion
Needless to say, leveling up Pals in the game is not as hard as it may have seemed to you. It is as easy as capturing the Pals and keeping them happy and healthy to make them work by themselves around the base and be content with fighting with you. It is advisable to capture a few specific Pals like Foxparks and Depresso then focus on leveling them up because not only are they amazing for fighting Bosses but they are also great for work around your base including the Ranch.
