Olympics 2024 Day 5 Highlights: HS Prannoy has set up a blockbuster men’s singles pre-quarter-final against compatriot Lakshya Sen in the Paris Olympics 2024 men’s single badminton event. Prannoy beat Duc Phat Le (Vietnam) in three games to enter the Round of 16. Earlier in the day, Lakshya Sen beat Jonatan Christie to advance. PV Sindhu also reached women’s singles Round of 16. Boxers Lovlina Borgohain (women’s 75kg) and Nishant Dev (men’s 71kg) are one win away from securing a medal after advancing to the quarterfinals of their respective categories. Table tennis stars Manika Batra and Sreeja Akula have been knocked out of Round of 16 In archery, Tarundeep Rai lost his Round Of 64 match against Great Britain’s Tom Hall while Deepika Kumari reached the Round of 16 after registering a comfortable 6-2 win over Quinty Roeffen of the Netherlands.
