Olympics 2024, Day 14 Live Updates: India grappler Aman Sehrawat will be in action in bronze medal in men’s 57kg wrestling against Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz at Paris Olympics. France are taking on Spain in the men’s football gold medal match at the Parc des Princes in Paris. France took the lead in the 11th minute through defender Enzo Millot. However, Spain were quick to equalise through their talisman Fermin Lopez. Meanwhile, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has issued a new statement regarding Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s appeal to be awarded the silver medal, following her disqualification from the Paris Olympics 2024 women’s 50kg event. The CAS said that matter has been referred to the Hon. Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC (AUS), sitting as a Sole Arbitrator, adding that the decision will be taken before the end of the Summer Games. Paris Olympics 2024 Live: Bad day for Indian golfers

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar both fell drastically in the standings in Round 3 of the women’s individual stroke play competition at Le Golf National.

Aditi Ashok, who finished fourth at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, started the day placed 14th in the rankings but ended the day tied at 40th place.

Diksha on the other hand, the 2021 gold medal winner at the Deaflympics, also struggled to get her footing on the day and fell down from 14th place to being tied at 42nd.

The CAS has said that a decision on Vinesh Phogat’s appeal will be taken before the end of the Summer Games in Paris.

“The matter has been referred to the Hon. Dr Annabelle Bennett AC SC (AUS), sitting as a Sole Arbitrator, who will hold a hearing with the parties today. The Sole Arbitrator’s decision is expected to be issued before the end of the Olympic Games,” CAS said in a statement on Friday.

Paris Olympics 2024, Day 14, Live Updates: Vinesh had filed two appeals

Two appeals were filed by Vinesh – one for participating in Thursday’s wrestling final while the second one was to get the joint-silver medal. While her first appeal was rejected, the CAS accepted her second request.  The Indian authorities have appointed famous lawyer Harish Salve to represent Vinesh’s case in front of the CAS. As per the reports, the hearing will take place on Friday at 1:30 PM (IST) and Salve will be virtually joining the case.
