New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft had high praise for former coach Bill Belichick at Tom Brady’s roast Sunday night.
As comedian Kevin Hart called the two on the stage to have a toast together, Kraft called Belichick the “greatest coach” in NFL history.
“I want to say, this is the greatest coach in the history of the game that did what no one else has done,” Kraft said. “Having Tom Brady and him was the greatest honor the good Lord gave me.”

Belichick, Brady and Kraft enjoyed plenty of success over the years. The group won six Super Bowls and appeared in nine before Brady departed for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, winning another Super Bowl before he retired after the 2022 season.
While Brady left the Patriots in 2020, Belichick remained with Kraft through the 2023 season, leaving New England in January.
Now, the Patriots enter a new era under Jerod Mayo, and they’re looking to find as much success as they experienced with Belichick and Brady. New England drafted what it hopes to be its next franchise quarterback in Drake Maye, and the former North Carolina quarterback is looking to bring the Patriots back to their heyday.
It will be quite the adjustment for Kraft moving into a new season without who he considers the greatest coach of all time, but the new era could be a promising one.
