PDC World Darts Championship prize money: Huge pot on offer as Luke Littler eyes Alexandra Palace glory

The 2024/25 PDC World Darts Championship is here and the best players on the planet are competing for the richest prize in the sport.

This is one of the best events on the British sporting calendar these days, and the winner walks home with a cool six-figure sum, and the Sid Waddel Trophy.

Last year, the then-16-year-old stunned everyone by reaching the final on his debut only to lose 7-4 to Luke Humphries.

Despite that, ‘The Nuke’ became an overnight sensation and will look to go one better this time around to further boost his earnings.

He’s now the major favourite to win the World Championship, with rival Humphries going out early.

Every player who made the event will walk away with a guaranteed £7,500.

From there, the money gradually increases round by round until we get to the final four.

The semi-finalists claim £100,000 each.

Humphries managed to change his life by claiming that prize last Christmas but he crashed out of this year’s event in the fourth round.

PDC World Darts Championship: What’s been said?Die-hard Liverpool fan Stephen Bunting would love to showcase the trophy at Anfield should he win this year’s World Darts Championship.

The final of the showpiece event takes place on Friday, just two days before Liverpool host rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.

And should Bunting claim glory at Ally Pally, he’ll be looking to show off his new silverware in front of the Kop.

“I’d love to do that,” Bunting told talkSPORT.

“When I won the Lakeside title in 2014, I got to take it onto the pitch when we played Aston Villa. All the Villa fans were singing, ‘there’s only one Phil Taylor’.

“So hopefully this time people will actually know who I am. That would be really good.

“I’d love to do that, especially against Manchester United. There’s no bigger game in football for me than that.”
