Zion Williamson’s dominance down the stretch led the New Orleans Pelicans to a 107-100 Thursday night home win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Williamson racked up 11 points in the fourth quarter to help the Pelicans overcome a late push by Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.

He finished the game with 28 points.

The New Orleans victory came as a relief to fans after the Pelicans’ late collapse in a 119-112 Tuesday loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Garrick Rattler @Garrick_RattlerZion not being afraid to go to the line late in games is such an underrated part of his game.

Superstar stuff tonight from Z.

Will Guillory @WillGuilloryZion Williamson has 11 of the Pels’ 18 points in the 4th quarter, including their last 7 points.

He’s got 28 points on 9-15 shooting.

That’s how it should look down the stretch

Kaleb Blanton @thekalebblantonHuge finish from Zion tonight. He learned from their last game. The ball needs to be in his hands at the end when it’s close.#Pelicans

The Bird Writes @thebirdwritesHuge bounce back performance by the Pelicans as they beat Milwaukee 107-100.

Zion looked every bit the part of a leader/superstar. Herb was Herb. CJ with some nice buckets. JV with a big all-around game and Trey Murphy was critical with a double-double.

On to Saturday and the…

Although the fourth quarter focused on Williamson, the third belonged to Antetokounmpo.

The Bucks star went on a 20-point run in the third quarter to bring Milwaukee within sight of tying the game.

Williamson’s strong fourth quarter helped stop Antetokounmpo from leading the Bucks to a comeback.

Eric Nehm @eric_nehmWith 28.7 seconds left, Giannis Antetokounmpo just took his first shot of the fourth quarter.

connor goebel @goebsy_goebelZion is literally unguardable when he plays his best basketball, he is making Giannis work, and also playing good defense as well

Nate Jones @JonesOnTheNBAZion is a damn problem

Antetokounmpo finished with 35 points and 14 rebounds. Despite the double-double, he shot 5-of-11 from the foul line, while Williamson sank 10 of his 16 free throws.

CJ McCollum added 25 points for New Orleans.

The Pelicans have won 10 of their last 13 games and sit half a game back of the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference

Adam Auslund @followAdamAPelicans about to be a half game behind the Clippers again.

Watching the Bucks try to contain Zion with Giannis and Lopez and not being able to is uh, scary…for you know, any team that will have to face them in a 7 game series 😬

Farbod Esnaashari @Farbod_EThat’s a huge win for the Pelicans tonight. Clippers now have to beat the Magic tomorrow, or they’re the 5th seed.

The Pelicans will look to close that gap with the Clippers as their homestand continues Saturday with a game against Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics.
