Period, Boo! Kelly Rowland Explains Why She Popped Off On Security At Cannes Film Festival Event (VIDEO)

Kelly Rowland was giving goddess vibes when she graced a red carpet event at the annual Cannes Film Festival two days ago. The singer’s red, strapless gown was a custom couture look by Indian designer Anamika Khanna, per Fashion Bomb Daily.

But her dazzle was cut short by what seemed like a heated interaction with event security. Lip-reading experts have been working overtime since the video went viral. Everyone wants to know WHAT exactly Rowland said to the female guard!

In a new interview with AP News Entertainment, the ‘Mea Culpa’ lead actress is finally addressing the incident.

Kelly Rowland Says She “Stood” Her Ground
AP caught up with Rowland at another Cannes Film Festival red carpet event on Thursday (May 23). Kelly — dressed in a glittery, two-piece green ensemble —  started by saying that the female security guard involved “knows what happened,” and so does she.

“…I have a boundary and I stand by those boundaries and that is it,” the singer said.

As previously reported, Rowland attended the “Marcello Mio” red carpet at the 77th annual Cannes Film Festival in France on May 21. Quite a few American and global celebrities are out there right now enjoying 12 days of film art and premieres.

Kelly Rowland was taking her time, stunting in her gown and smiling for the camera in her bleach-blonde bob. All of a sudden, a female event staff interrupted her, posing for the cameras, and tried to urge her up the venue’s stairs.

At that point, she was the second event staff member who attempted to seemingly rush Kelly. When Rowland stopped on the stairs, turned around, and waved, the security guard held her hand up against the singer’s arm.

Kelly Rowland responded by turning around and saying something to the guard with a gentle touch of the shoulder. Well, whatever the guard responded back didn’t sit well with the star because photos showed her neck vein popping and her finger in the same guard’s face just moments later.

One deaf TikTok user — known for reading celebrities’ public conversations — claims Kelly was repeatedly telling the guard not to “talk to [me] like that.” She also allegedly said, “You are not my mother…I’m not a child, don’t talk to me like that.”

While interviewing with AP, Kelly Rowland said that there were other female celebrities on the red carpet who didn’t look like her and got better treatment.

“…and there were other women who attended that carpet who didn’t quite look like me and they didn’t get scolded or pushed off or told to get off and I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground and that’s it.”
