Physical Purists Won’t Be Pleased by New Life Is Strange PS5 Collection
Only two of five games on the disc
Square Enix has revealed that it’s releasing a physical PS5 bundle of every Life Is Strange game to date, retailing for $60 and launching on 2nd October 2025. Pre-orders are available now on the Square Enix Store website.
With all games and DLC included, the physical Life Is Strange Collection release contains:
Life Is Strange Remastered
Life Is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered
Life Is Strange 2
Life Is Strange: True Colors Deluxe Edition
Life Is Strange: Double Exposure Ultimate Edition
You will get True Colors and Double Exposure on the disc itself, then everything else will be redeemed digitally through a PS Store code included in the box. This continues a trend from some publishers where much of what’s been pitched as a physical release is actually digital content not found on the disc itself.
Microsoft’s ports of Xbox games to PS5 have been the biggest offenders of late, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and DOOM: The Dark Ages containing just a small fraction of the data required to play the game on the actual physical discs. Following the confirmation of an Oblivion Remastered physical version yesterday, potential buyers are wondering if the Bethesda re-release will suffer the same fate.
In the case of the new Life Is Strange Collection, you only receive two of the five games on the disc and must download the other three via the code included inside the PS5 case.
Despite the digital requirements in a physical collection, the $60 price point still represents a good deal, considering how many games are included. Will you be buying the bundle? Let us know in the comments below.
Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
