Piper Connolly Releases Inspiring New Single “welcome back girl”

Alt-pop artist Piper Connolly unveils her new single, “welcome back girl,” along with the visualizer. It’s a song about getting lost in a toxic relationship and then finding a way back.

Connolly explains, “I wrote the song after seeing a friend rediscover herself after a very difficult time. She had completely lost herself as a result of a really bad relationship which included intimate partner violence. This beautiful, strong, effervescent personality had become unrecognizable as the person we all love so much. She left them which, in and of itself, was very hard for her to do and, with time, came healing and that familiar lovely woman came back to us and back to herself. She is now the ‘welcome back girl’ in my song.”

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, while growing up Connolly found refuge in music as well as a conduit to channel her feelings through songwriting. Citing a wide range of stylistic influences, from classic rock, jazz, ‘90s grunge, ska, R&B, and soul, she developed her own unique sound, a sound that eludes easy pigeonholing, a sound blending elements of indie, alternative, and pop into innovative musical compositions.

Connolly’s music is differentiated by her “unique voice cutting through the noise of today’s ‘lazy whisper range’ popular music scene,” allowing her to separate herself from the hum drum.
