‘Please stop talking’ – WWE legend The Undertaker shares one major regret after apology from Donald Trump

Donald Trump apologised to The Undertaker for being late for their podcast – then wouldn’t stop talking.

The US President elect sat down for an appearance on the wrestling megastar’s podcast, Six Feet Under with Mark ‘Undertaker’ Calaway, in the lead up to the US election earlier this month.

His Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino was the venue for WrestleMania 4 and 5 back in the 1980s and, decades later, the man himself was in the middle of the ring alongside Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin for a high-profile WWE storyline.

Pulling on the support of Taker and fellow wrestling stars Hulk Hogan and Logan Paul, Trump leaned heavily into the wrestling space, and more than made himself at home.

During the latest episode of Six Feet Under it was revealed that, after extensive prep and security, Undertaker’s interview of Trump was due to last 28 minutes. It went far, far longer.

Quizzed on how he felt when the businessman turned politician began talking – and didn’t stop – the Phenom joked: “Wasn’t that great, though?

“[I thought] is he going to stop talking long enough for me to ask him a question?

“I was like: ‘Good lord, man!’ It exposed me. I don’t have the chops… but again, he’s an ex-President. [I can’t say]: ‘Mr President will you please stop talking and let me get my question in?’”

Undertaker clearly felt he struggled to get a word in with the tycoon, who overcame Kamala Harris to net a second shot at the US Presidency, for which he’ll be sworn in come the New Year.

“He is such a fan,” Taker added. “I knew he was a fan, I knew he was a big fan, but it kind of caught me off guard.

Off camera, Trump’s conduct impressed the multi-time former wrestling champion and master of the Tombstone.

He went on to reveal that, prior to their recording, Trump himself came to apologise for being late.

The veteran Taker went on: “I was impressed with just how gracious he was… the fact he came down to apologise because he was going to be ten minutes late.

“He could have sent anybody down, he didn’t have to send anybody down. Little things like that that people don’t get to see.

“There’s a lot more there than people think. We had a great opportunity, and we took it.”

Paul also hosted Trump on his Impaulsive podcast and indulged in a ludicrous face-off with the controversial figure, while Hogan appeared at several Republican events in the lead up to the election.

McMahon, the President elect promised, will “empower the next Generation of American Students and Workers, and make America Number One in Education in the World”.

The 76-year-old was an executive in WWE for many years – and featured in on-screen storylines during the Attitude Era alongside husband Vince – before moving into politics.
