Police ask prosecutors to consider charging Russell Brand over sexual assault claims: report

In light of the Sunday Times’ 2023 report, in which four women came forward and accused Russell Brand of sexual assault, rape and emotional abuse, metropolitan police in London have asked the Crown Prosecution Service to consider charging the actor over the claims.

Detectives investigating the allegations revealed on Saturday they had interviewed “a man in his 40s” on “three separate occasions” in relation to the case and submitted the file of evidence to prosecutors, per The Guardian.

A rep for Brand did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The four women who accused Brand in the exposé claimed that each incident took place between 2006 and 2013.

One of the unnamed accusers, who was identified in the report only as Nadia, claimed she was raped by Brand “against a wall” in his Los Angeles home in 2012 when she was in her thirties.

“He’s a lot taller than me. And he has that glazed look in his eye again. And I can’t move. And I told him, ‘Get off, get off,’” she said, adding that the “Get Him to the Greek” star, who was married to Katy Perry from 2010 to 2012, allegedly didn’t wear a condom for the act.

Nadia then reported her injuries at a rape center the following day. Medical records were able to confirm her claims, according to the outlet.

A different accuser alleged she was a minor at just 16 years old when she said Brand assaulted her. She told the outlet Brand referred to her as “the child” during their relationship.

At the time of their interaction, Brand was 31 years old. She claimed the “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star was “emotionally abusive and controlling” during their relationship that lasted three months when he worked as a BBC presenter.

Brand vehemently denied the allegations of abuse laid against him prior to the report’s release, saying his “promiscuous” activities were “always consensual.”

“I have received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of egregious and aggressive attacks,” he said. “Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”

“When I was in the movies and as I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous,” Brand continued.

“During that time of promiscuity, the relationships that I had were absolutely always consensual.”
