Police attempt to arrest Nicki Minaj in Amsterdam for allegedly ‘carrying drugs’

Authorities in Amsterdam attempted to arrest Nicki Minaj for alleged drug possession, per an Instagram Live and a series of posts on X the rap superstar shared Saturday.

An official can be heard saying in the Live video that they wanted to take the Grammy nominee into custody for allegedly “carrying drugs” — which she denied.

“I’m not going in there. I need a lawyer present,” Minaj, 41, argued while seemingly at an airport.

After some protest, the “Barbie World” rapper’s video showed her stepping into a police vehicle.

She then became concerned about her upcoming show, and an officer assured her someone would “try to get [her] there” as soon as possible.

Minaj is currently on her “Pink Friday 2” World Tour. She has a show scheduled for Saturday evening in Manchester, England. It’s unclear if she was actually booked at a police station.

She wrote via X Saturday, “now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls.

“Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.”

Her most recent X post at the time of publication — posted at 10:51 a.m. ET — reads, “Now they said I have to go 5 mins away to make a statement about my security to the police precinct.”

A video she shared on Instagram Saturday morning seemingly captured her aforementioned claims.

The video started with an official letting her know that all of her baggage needed to be checked.

“Isn’t that what you planned on doing from the get-go? Why didn’t you search it before it went on the plane?” Minaj asked.

The gentleman went on to explain that authorities “did a random quick check” but now want to do a full search. When the “Bang Bang” rapper asked why, the man replied, “First of all because you filmed him … He doesn’t believe that you don’t have more with you than you say.”

Defending herself, Minaj explained that there had been a misunderstanding. “No, he asked me do I have any more in those purses and I said, ‘No,’ and I asked, ‘Where are my bags?’ They took my bags and put it on the plane before I could know what bags are on the plane.”

Another X post from the musician Saturday morning claimed, “I’m still in my car. They took my luggage w/o consent. Lied & said it was on the jet.”

She also accused her former team of purposely keeping her from her upcoming show so “negative stories” could be written about her. “Jealousy is a disease. You know the rest,” she slammed.

The “Pound the Alarm” hitmaker accused her old team — whom she fired — of trying to sabotage her by making her late to her Manchester show. nickiminaj/Instagram
