Powerball Grand Prize Grows to $364M for October 12 Drawing
Many players hoped to win the grand prize from America’s popular lottery game, Powerball, on Wednesday. While many tried their luck, nobody matched all winning numbers from the game’s latest drawing.
The Jackpot Continues to Increase
The most recent drawing of the popular lottery game was on Wednesday. With an estimated jackpot of $337 million, no player matched the winning white balls 25, 32, 43, 53, 66 and the red Powerball number 10. After the jackpot survived once again, it will now grow further, surpassing the mind-blowing sum of $360 million for the next drawing.
An estimate confirmed by Powerball reveals that the grand prize will reach $364 million for the next drawing. The cash value of the Powerball jackpot is an estimated $179.0 million. While that’s a far cry from the $364 million sum, most winners select the cash option as they can instantly collect the sum.
The last time a fortunate player won the Powerball jackpot was back in August. At the time, a single ticket in California matched all winning numbers for a $44.3 million jackpot. With that in mind, the cash value of the jackpot is $21.9 million.
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday, October 12. The odds of winning the jackpot from America’s favorite lottery game are always the same, 1 in 292.2 million.
Many Players Won Non-jackpot Prizes from Powerball
While nobody won the jackpot from Powerball, a couple of players secured million-dollar prizes. This was the case of one ticket holder in California and one in Pennsylvania. Each of the ticket holders matched five winning white balls from the latest drawing for a $1 million prize.
On the other hand, a dozen players matched four white balls along with the red Powerball number for a tier-three prize on the latest drawing. From the total, seven players collected the standard $50,000 prize, while five winners took home a $150,000 Power Play prize each after paying an extra for the feature that unlocked a 3x multiplier.
More than 300 lucky lottery players matched four white balls from Wednesday’s drawing. A total of 259 players won the standard $100 prize each, while 68 won a $300 Power Play prize each.
Not unexpectedly, the largest share of players won the lowest tier prize which is $4. A total of 384,551 Powerball players won $4 each from the game’s latest drawing.
