“Prayers Up”: Jalen Suggs’ Wheelchair Exit After Agonizing Injury Leaves Fans, Magic Family Emotional
Three months into the season, only one thing pops into our head, “Is Orlando Magic cursed?” Well, no one really knows the answer to it. After just playing 5 games, the team’s centerpiece Paolo Banchero injured his right oblique and hasn’t returned yet. Following that, Franz Wagner, who shouldered the team’s offense for the next 20 games, also tore his oblique, and more importantly Moe Wagner sustained a season-ending injury. In this lineup, the Magic have a new entrant, Jalen Suggs.
Tonight, the 4th seeding Magic took on the Toronto Raptors in an evenly poised match-up. Despite not having the team’s offensive aggressors, the Florida side continued to put up a tough fight. In that process, the team’s starting guard Suggs suffered a scary non-contact injury. During the 3rd minute mark of the second quarter, the point guard held his back during a defensive possession and fell on the floor.
The game went on for a while before the refs blew the whistle. The medical staff rushed to the spot while Jalen Suggs was screaming in agonizing pain. Moments later when his teammates helped to get him on his foot, the 23-year-old couldn’t tolerate the pain. So, the staff had to roll in a wheelchair to help the star off the court. Magic players stood there worried, watching their teammate get into the tunnel. Meanwhile, fans took over the online comments to express their grief.

Prayers up 🙏🏼 I think it could be a bulged disc. That happen to me on the court. It feels like you pulled something and you start seeing stars. Then again, I’m older than him so I could be wrong. 😅
