Pregnant Cardi B Requests Primary Custody and Child Support from Offset in Divorce Filing
Cardi B wants her ex to help offset the costs of raising their kids.
In her recent divorce filing against her estranged husband Offset, the pregnant “WAP” rapper asked for primary custody of their kids and for him to pay child support.
Cardi and the Migos alumâparents to daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus, 6, and son Wave Set Cephus, 2âare âexpecting their third child later this year,â the court documents, submitted Aug. 1 and obtained by E! News, confirm.
Offsetâwho is also a father to kids Jordan, 14, Kalea, 9, and Kody, 8, from previous relationshipsâhas not responded to his estranged wife’s divorce filing in court.
E! News has reached out to Offsetâs rep for comment but has not heard back.
Cardi (real name Belcalis Marlenis AlmĂĄnzar) is also requesting that the court order that any property acquired by her or Offset during their more than six-year marriage be distributed equitably.
The petition states that for the past six months, the 31-year-old and her husband, 32, (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) have “experienced irreconcilable differences that have caused the breakdown of the marriage” and that “there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation” between them.
And her rep set the record straight on any speculation about what led to the quo legally ending their marriage.
âThis is not based on one particular incident,” the rep told E! News Aug. 1. âIt has been a longtime coming.”
In December, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper announced on social media that sheâd been single “for a minute” and also shared a cryptic message about ending relationships.
However, the following month, Cardi signaled during an X live chat that she and her “baby father” had hooked up over New Year’s Eve weekend after going clubbing, Billboard reported. In April, she and Offset attended a New York Knicks game together at Madison Square Garden, as seen in a fan’s video.

Cardi announced her pregnancy on social media the day she filed the papers to end her marriage.
“With every ending comes a new beginning!” she wrote on Instagram, alongside photos of her baring her baby bump. “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
She added, “Youâve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! Itâs so much easier taking lifeâs twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why itâs worth it to push through!”

Last that fall, the “WAP” artist filed for divorce from her husband after three years of marriage. In the divorce filing, obtained by E! News, Cardi’s legal team stated the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and “there are no prospects for a reconciliation.”
