Premier League club determined to keep Man United target
England face The Netherlands in the semi-finals of Euro 2024 on Wednesday night, with Spain awaiting the winners in the final.Â
Luis de la Fuente’s side secured their place in Sunday’s final by beating France 2-1 in an intriguing encounter on Tuesday evening, and England boss Gareth Southgate will be hoping to see his side reach the final.
The Three Lions have underwhelmed so far in Germany and have come close to defeat in each of their two knockout games so far.
Last time out, England beat Switzerland on penalties to reach the final four.
Now, it has emerged that one member of Southgate’s squad is a target for Manchester United, but his current club are reluctant to sell him this summer.
As per Football Insider, Crystal Palace are determined to keep hold of defender Marc Guehi despite interest from the Red Devils.
Guehi has been linked with a move to Manchester United
The report claims that Palace boss Oliver Glasner is desperate to keep the centre-back at Selhurst Park beyond the end of the current transfer window.
Guehi, 23, joined the Eagles from Chelsea back in 2021, for a fee of around £20 million.
He has since established himself as a regular for Palace, making 111 appearances for the London side across all competitions.
Guehi’s impressive form not only earned him a place in the England squad for Euro 2024, but has also attracted interest from Man United.
As well as the Red Devils, European Champions Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the central defender.
Guehi retained his starting spot for Palace following Glasner’s arrival midway through last season, although he did miss several games due to injury.
The defender’s contract is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
