Rabiot blow Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle have all received a blow with Adrien Rabiot set to join his new club.
The three Premier League giants had all eyed Rabiot in the past and he became a free agent this summer.
As he is unattached, he would have been able to sign outside of the transfer window which closed two weeks ago.
Man United almost signed him last year but the deal broke down, so they were expected to make a move again this time around.
But they didn’t, and now the Frenchman is heading home.
Rabiot is set to sign for Marseille with the two parties in advanced talks, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The deal is likely to be done in the next 48 hours.
Credit: GettySaka update Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was unable to confirm if Bukayo Saka suffered an injury in the north London derby earlier today.
Saka was withdrawn late on after going down off the ball and receiving some treatment on the pitch.
If he is to have picked up an issue, he could potentially join captain Martin Odegaard on the sidelines in another big loss for the Gunners.
Speaking after the game, Arteta admitted: “Saka was not able to continue today, I don’t know exactly what it is but he could not continue.”
He also gave an update on Odegaard’s condition, saying: “Ødegaard? We still have to wait and see, it’s not clear yet.”

Sterling settlingRaheem Sterling certainly enjoyed his Arsenal debut today.
The Chelsea loanee came on in the second half as the Gunners beat their fierce rivals Tottenham 1-0.
Arsenal face Atalanta in the Champions League on Thursday as they get their European campaign underway, before they travel to Sterling’s former club Man City.
It remains to be seen if Sterling will be part of those clashes…
Wimpering WolvesWolves have had their worst start to a Premier League campaign since the 2003/04 season.
Their 2-1 loss to Newcastle on Sunday marks their third defeat of the season, with them picking up just one point which came in the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest.
Such a return in four games is their joint-worst start ever in the Premier League.
And that’s not a great omen for the Midlands outfit, given the 2003/04 season saw Wolves relegated bottom of the league.
It’s all over! That’s that! Newcastle come from behind to beat Wolves.
Stunners from Fabian Schar and Harvey Barnes have wrapped up this weekend’s Premier League action.
Here are all the results from this weekend:
Southampton 0-3 Man UnitedLiverpool 0-1 Nottingham ForestMan City 2-1 BrentfordFulham 1-1 West HamCrystal Palace 2-2 LeicesterBrighton 0-0 IpswichAston Villa 3-2 EvertonBournemouth 0-1 ChelseaTottenham 0-1 ArsenalWolves 1-2 NewcastleThere were a total of 65 yellow cards this weekend, which is the most ever in a Premier League gameweek.
It’s been an extra aggressive few days of action in the top flight!
GOAL! Wolves 1-2 Newcastle: Harvey Barnes AND NOW NEWCASTLE LEAD!
HARVEY BARNES COMPLETES A QUICKFIRE TURNAROUND!
It’s another stunner from the Magpies as Barnes cuts in onto his right foot and bends one superbly into the top corner.
That is unstoppable!
Wolves have collapsed here.
GOAL! Wolves 1-1 Newcastle: Fabian ScharNEWCASTLE ARE LEVEL!
WHAT A STRIKE FROM FABIAN SCHAR!
The centre-back receives a lay off from Bruno Guimaraes, he takes one touch and then unleashes a super strike from distance.
His effort takes a slight nick off Craig Dawson to put it out of reach for Sam Johnstone and into the top corner,
Newcastle will now push for a winner in the final stages.
Tindall booked Jason Tindall has acted as a ball boy and been punished.
He picks up a ball from a cone on the side of the pitch and throws it to Joe Willock to try and speed up play.
However, the Newcastle assistant is shown a yellow card for doing so as coaches aren’t permitted to grab the balls off the cones.
Tindall complains but the booking stands.
We’re heading into the final 15 minutes and the visitors are starting to get desperate as they look for an equaliser.
An hour gone Wolves still lead Newcastle thanks to Mario Lemina’s goal.
Newcastle have been off the pace compared to the first half and they’re lucky to not be two behind.
Jorgen Strand Larsen hit the post low to Nick Pope’s right for the hosts after being played in by Lemina.
Wolves are a lot more focused on keeping the ball now, sitting on 70 per cent possession since the break.
It leaves the Magpies struggling to find a way back into this.
Isak off at half timeNewcastle have made three half-time changes at Molineux.
Harvey Barnes, Sandro Tonali and Joe Willock are all on.
One of the players to come off is striker Alexander Isak.
There will now be concerns over a potential injury to Isak after he was seen with a nose bleed in the first half.
He was clipped in the nose by a clearance and hasn’t come back out after the half time break.
It’s a huge blow to Newcastle who need to turn this game around.
Isak will also feel slighltly embarrassed after questioning Fantasy Premier League managers for selling him ahead of this game…
It turns out that was a good decision!
‘I always win things in my second year’Ange Postecoglou seemed agitated in his post-match interview following defeat to Arsenal as he made a bold trophy claim.
The Australian had previosuly said that he usually wins things in this second year at a club and he still stands by that.
However, his claim came after a sarcastic reaction to the interviewer asking him questions after the north London derby.
After being asked whether he saw enough in this Spurs side to back up his trophy statement, Postecoglou said: “Yeah absolutely.”
But then after the reporter added more to her question, he continued: “Are you going to let me answer the question or are you going to keep asking it?
“No absolutely and I think I’ll correct myself and say that I don’t usually win things, I always win things in my second year.
“I don’t say things unless I believe it.”
GOAL! Wolves 1-0 Newcastle: Mario LeminaWOLVES HAVE THE LEAD!
The hosts have been on the back foot all game and Newcastle will be frustrated they haven’t made the most of it.
On a fast counter, they break down the left with Jorgen Strand Larsen and he drills a cross in.
Joao Gomes dummies it and lets the ball run through to Mario Lemina who taps home at the back post.
Advantage Wolves.
Sorry Saka Arsenal legend Robert Pires has apologised to Bukayo Saka after comparing him to Jeremy Doku.
Pires claimed Doku was better than Saka and said: “Bukayo still lacks a certain level of consistency and experience, especially in the big games.
“Perhaps this season, especially in the Champions League, he will show a more convincing face than last season when it counts.
“For example, in my opinion, Jeremy Doku from Manchester City is a bit better because he is technically stronger, has better dribbling skills and is more imaginative.”
But ahead of the north London derby, in which Saka went on to assist the winning goal, Pires went back on his statement.
Posting on Instagram, the Frenchman wrote: “Ahead of today’s game I want to clarify that I think Saka is an amazing player and I have huge respect for him.
“A while ago I was asked to compare him to another player …. I said the other player had better skills in some areas… this does not mean the other player is better than Saka.
“I genuinely think Saka is better and a fantastic number 7!”

The England winger is causing Nelson Semedo all sorts of problems and has almost opened the scoring.
He easily brushed past Semedo and Yerson Mosquera, driving into the box and then shooting, but his effort clipped the post!
Newcastle have been dominant with over 70 per cent possession.
Wolves are starting to create some half chances but they’ve struggled in the opening half an hour.
Ange’s anger Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has complained that the media make up ‘fairytales’ about him regarding his set-piece approach.
The Spurs manager has previously admitted that he’s not interested in his side’s set-piece issues and those comments have now come back to bite him.
Postecoglou chooses to not have a set-piece coach, but after conceding yet another goal from a corner today, that decision has been questioned.
Speaking post-match, he said: “I haven’t brought in a set-piece coach but people can run any kind of fairytale they want about me.
“Everything I say has kind of turned into something else.
“I thought we handled set-pieces okay today, but they’re always a threat and we switched off for one.
“Whether it’s a set piece or in general play, if you switch off you’re going to pay a price against good teams and that happened today.”
Toon on top Newcastle have been in charge at Molineux so far.
Eddie Howe’s side look a threat every time they move forward and Wolves are struggling to deal with them.
It’s created a very dull atmosphere among the home fans who are yet to see a win this season.
At the moment, it seems like only one team will be opening the scoring.
Jacob Murphy has had the best chance, with his shot tipped over by goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
‘We are really proud’ Arsenal goalscorer Gabriel has reacted to the win in the derby.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Brazilian said: “I am so happy, it is a big derby and we are so happy to win here. Let’s enjoy it now.
“It means a lot to score the winner, I had difficult times in the game but then we scored from a corner.”
Jorginho also had his say on the huge result for the Gunners.
“We had to work really hard as you saw, we knew it was going to be a difficult game,” he said. “On these days you have to work hard and we know we can count on each other as teammates.
“At the end it paid off and we are so happy that we won. We had key players missing but we are a total team, the whole squad.
“We know that whoever comes on will be ready to help the team. We are really proud of the team.”
How things standAfter Arsenal’s win this afternoon, they have moved back into second place, one point behind Manchester City.
It’s three victories from four for the Gunners and they remain one of the five teams still unbeaten.
Another one of those teams is Newcastle who are in action next.
Tottenham aren’t in the top ten of the Premier League as they sit on four points after a second loss in a row.
It’s Spurs’ worst start to a top-flight campaign in nine years.
Off to Molineux It’s almost time for the final game of the weekend.
Newcastle are in the west Midlands to take on Wolves aiming to build on their pre-international break win over Tottenham.
Meanwhile, for Gary O’Neil’s side, they are still waiting for their first win of the Premier League season.
Here’s a reminder of how the teams will line up…
History makers Arsenal hang on to beat Tottenham 1-0!
Gabriel’s header just after the hour mark is the difference and Mikel Arteta beats Ange Postecoglou again.
The Gunners have made Premier League history too.
They have won the north London derby as the away team for the third straight time, which is as many as their previous 17 such games.
Arsenal last won three away derbies in a row against Spurs between January 1987 and September 1988.
And they have now replicated that in the Premier League era.
What a result for the Gunners as they sink Spurs again.
Sterling debut Raheem Sterling is on for Arsenal.
After making his loan switch from Chelsea on Deadline Day, the winger appears for the first time in a Gunners shirt.
Sterling is sitting deep on the left wing, helping out with the defending as Tottenham pile on some pressure.
We’re into the final 10 minutes in the north London derby.
Time is ticking for Spurs to get back into this.
Set piece specialistsThree of Arsenal’s last four Premier League goals against bitter rivals Tottenham have been from corners.
Only three of their previous 88 north London derby league goals had been from corners before this.
It’s Gabriel’s 15th goal in the Premier League.
No centre-back in Europe’s top five leagues has scored more than the Brazilian since 2020.
There are just over 15 minutes left for Arsenal to defend their lead…
GOAL! Tottenham 0-1 Arsenal: GabrielWE HAVE AN OPENER IN THE DERBY!
AND IT’S GABRIEL WHO HEADS HOME!
Bukayo Saka whips in a great corner and Gabriel is free in the box to power a header past Guglielmo Vicario.
Tottenham had continued their dominance in the second half and Arsenal had struggled to create.
But now the Gunners have the lead and have silenced the hosts!
Dean Ashton live on talkSPORT: “It’s Tottenham’s weak spot, every team targets Vicario.
“From inside the six-yard box, Gabriel is one of the best. Vicario cannot react as he’s stuck on his line.”
