Premier League winter break explained: Fixture dates, kick-off times and talkSPORT coverage as Gameweek 21 is split over fortnight

Last term was the most gruelling ever, with hundreds of domestic matches squeezed in around the 2022 World Cup.

The Premier League took a month-long break between mid-November and Boxing Day to factor in the Qatar tournament.

While the calendar is less intense this year, new rules on added time mean that games are longer than ever and players will be looking forward to some time off.

When is the winter break this season?
The Premier League will hold its mid-season break this month.

Teams played three games in nine days around Christmas before the FA Cup third round was held during the first weekend of January.

Gameweek 21 has now been split across two weeks so each team will have one weekend off.

Five games were held from January 13 to 15 and the other five will be played the week after, January 20 to 22.

The Premier League will then return in full with midweek games on January 30 and 31 before another round of fixtures over the weekend of February 2 and 3.

The FA Cup fourth round will also be held during the weekend of January 27 and 28.
