The next stop on the Road to WrestleMania is the Opus Stadium in Perth, Australia for Elimination Chamber on Saturday.
The venue will be packed with over 45,000 fans looking for the biggest show possible ahead of The Show of Shows.
This is a chance for WWE to make a statement, and that can come with moments that will have everyone talking.
From an unforgettable babyface performance by Rhea Ripley against Nia Jax to a statement move by AJ Styles to complete his heel turn, the premium live event can deliver something special this weekend.
The following are the most likely heel and face turns to come out of Elimination Chamber.
Face: Rhea Ripley1 of 4
Rhea Ripley will be the crowd favorite in Perth, and no one will get a bigger pop on Saturday. However, the bigger question is whether it will continue beyond Elimination Chamber.
Nia Jax has established herself as a dominant heel on Raw, and she will remain a thorn in Mami’s side beyond the pay-per-view. As a result, fans across the world want to cheer Ripley.
If she wasn’t the leader of a heel faction in The Judgment Day, WWE would have likely already turned her into its top babyface.
If she plays the brutalized face against The Irresistible Force and survives with her Women’s World Championship, it’s going to be hard for fans not to root for her far past ‘Mania.
Her likely rival on April 6-7 will be Becky Lynch. The Man is the rare star who could be cheered over Mami, but even that’s uncertain.
WWE might be best served by making it a face vs. face battle after which Lynch can raise the Australian’s hand.
Heel: Naomi2 of 4
Naomi is back in WWE, but her position in the company is uncertain. If she does not establish herself quickly on the roster, she could get lost in the shuffle and miss WrestleMania 40.
Her best path could be via the Bloodline story that has dominated WWE. Her husband, Jimmy Uso, is building up to the biggest match of his career against his brother, Jey.
Solo Sikoa will be busy backing up Roman Reigns in the main event of ‘Mania, leaving an opening for Jimmy to find help from another family member.
In order for Naomi to get involved in that story, though, she needs to turn heel. This could come from costing a top babyface such as Bianca Belair or Liv Morgan their opportunity in the women’s Elimination Chamber match.
The Glow has rarely gotten the chance to play a villain, and this role could be the difference that helps her become a top star in her new WWE run.
Heel: Bianca Belair3 of 4
The writing has been on the wall with Bianca Belair since she lost the Raw Women’s Championship in May 2023. She is growing more frustrated and struggling to find her place on the roster.
The EST of WWE may be able to figure it out by starting a clear feud with Jade Cargill after Elimination Chamber, but the company has delayed using the former All Elite Wrestling star in featured roles.
Outside of Cargill, the top women for Belair to fight would be Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez or Naomi. If The Glow does not turn heel herself, The EST could do so to push a feud between them forward.
All it would take is a frustrated outburst from Belair after a surprise early elimination in the women’s Elimination Chamber match. As a heel, the future would be clear for her for the first time since she arrived on the main roster in 2020.
Heel: AJ Styles4 of 4
AJ Styles is not booked for Elimination Chamber because of LA Knight, and they seem set for a collision at WrestleMania 40.
Technically, The Phenomenal One may already be a heel, but he has not done something heinous enough to push the crowd to boo him yet.
That could come with an interruption of the men’s Elimination Chamber match. If Styles attacks Knight before or during the contest and costs him a world title shot, it would set up their rivalry for The Show of Shows perfectly.
This feud can be something special, but only if WWE truly starts building up the story. Styles needs to sell himself to a big crowd, and he can do that in Australia on Saturday.
