PSG vs Monaco predictionsParis Saint-Germain are not home and dry in the Ligue 1 title race just yet, but it would be a massive shock if the club from the capital did not lift the trophy this season.
Ten points clear of the chasing pack heading into the weekend, PSG have the chance to extend their lead (at least temporarily) by overcoming Monaco on Friday night.
The club from the principality are 13 points adrift of top spot and three behind Marseille in second place. A run of one win in six games between the start of December and the middle of January in effect knocked them out of the title race.
With Marseille also struggling to keep up, PSG already have one hand on the prize. Yet the Ligue 1 title alone is no longer sufficient to satisfy the fan base.Â
The latest edition of the Deloitte Football Money League, which covers the 2023/24 season, shows that PSG generated a revenue of €805.9m. Marseille, the next highest-ranked French side, brought in €287m.
Given their massive financial advantage over the domestic competition, PSG should win the title every year. Despite picking up 10 of the last 12 titles, the Parisians have probably underachieved in that time.
The Champions League remains the holy grail for PSG. Their impressive end to the league phase, which saw Luis Enrique’s side beat Manchester City 4-2 and Stuttgart 4-1, saw them qualify for the play-offs, where they will face fellow Ligue 1 side Brest over two legs.
There is also a sense that the fans are back on board with the PSG project. During the galactico era, when Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi formed the team’s attack, PSG were not particularly likeable. The recent shift towards young players has been welcomed by most supporters.
PSG have never gone an entire Ligue 1 campaign unbeaten, but that is starting to look like a genuine possibility with 14 games remaining. Their two toughest remaining matches are both at home, with Monaco and Marseille still to visit the Parc des Princes.
With the Champions League still the main focus, it would also be beneficial for PSG to make their lead at the top of Ligue 1 unassailable (if it is not already) as soon as possible.Â

PSG to win and both teams to scorePSG beat Monaco 4-2 in the reverse fixture shortly before Christmas and we anticipate a similar outcome here.
The Parisians have won eight of their 10 home games in Ligue 1 this season. They are a formidable force when playing in front of their own fans. Monaco, for their part, are much stronger at home than away.Â
Aid Hutter’s side are more than capable of scoring at the Parc des Princes, though.Â

They are the division’s third-highest scorers overall, while they have notched 12 goals in their last five league matches and have only drawn a blank in one of their last 10.
That sort of record will give Monaco a degree of confidence ahead of their trip to the capital, but avoiding defeat will be tough.

PSG/PSG half-time/full-timeWith the first leg of that Champions League play-off against Brest scheduled for Tuesday, PSG would have hoped for an easier Ligue 1 assignment this weekend.
Monaco are no pushovers, but Luis Enrique’s side should get the job done – and their manager would love for his team to have the three points in the bag as quickly as possible.
Because of that, we should expect PSG to make a fast start against Monaco. Luis Enrique will want his team to be ahead at the interval.
Monaco usually take a while to get going. They rank ninth in the first-half table compared to third in the second-half standings.
With that in mind, we fancy PSG to be ahead after both 45 and 90 minutes.

Ousmane Dembele to score any timeOusmane Dembele is in a rich vein of form.
The France international has found the back of the net in each of his last eight appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals in that time.
That includes back-to-back hat-tricks against Stuttgart and Brest. Dembele is full of confidence right now and he will relish the chance to extend his scoring run against Monaco.
The former Barcelona man struck twice in the reverse fixture in December, while he notched the only goal of the game when PSG beat Monaco 1-0 in the Trophee des Champions last month.
Dembele is the obvious choice in the anytime scorer market, especially at such generous odds.Â
