Megan Thee Stallion Opens Up About Staying Fit
On Wednesday, April 10, Women’s Health Magazine released its latest cover, which features Megan Thee Stallion.
In addition to taking some risqué shots for the magazine, Meg sat down for an exclusive interview with the outlet. During the conversation, “Thee Hot Girl Coach” opened up about how she stays motivated to keep up with her fitness.
“Getting out of bed to work out in the morning is a struggle,” she said. I have to get mentally prepared. I’m like, ‘I can stay here for another hour, or I can get up and go work out and be a bad b***h. If I want to be a stallion and not a pony, I got to get up and put in the work.’”
The Rapper Drops Her Workout Routine
The 29-year-old shared that she sticks to her workout routine four to five days a week. This includes attending pilates classes, running up and down hills at the beach for cardio, and spending 40 minutes on the StairMaster at the gym.
To target her legs, the Hot Girl explained that she utilizes “hip thrusts, goblet squats, leg extensions,” and “stallion kicks.” For her abs, the rapper opts for “weighted situps,” and to strengthen her back, she does “lat pulldowns, lat flies, and renegade rows.”
“I’m in a space where I feel good mentally, so I want to look as good as I feel,” she told the outlet.
To target her gut area, Meg explained that she “leveled up” her diet. The rapper decided to cut back on “bread, tuna melts, and red meat.” Additionally, she eliminated sugary drinks such as soda and juice.
Instead, Meg now opts for drinking a gallon of water daily and has noticed less bloating and clearer skin.
In addition to those changes, the rapper drinks protein-packed fruit smoothies or green juices before working out and opts for foods like salmon, sweet potatoes, kale, and brown rice. However, she notes that she’ll never give up on her love for dark chocolate.
“I am still a Southern girl, so I like to eat what I want,” she explained. “I just don’t go overboard.”
A Brief Recap Of The Rapper Fitness Journey & Transparency On Social Media
As The Shade Room previously reported, Meg was injured during an altercation involving Tory Lanez in July 2020. The incident left the 29-year-old with bullet fragments in her feet.
As time passed, Meg started speaking to a therapist and deleted social media apps from her phone. The decision led her to discover working out as an outlet to assist her healing.
“I knew I wasn’t myself. It took me a while to acknowledge that I was depressed. But once I started talking to a therapist, I was able to be truthful with myself,” she told Women’s Health. “Working on myself made me get into working out because I needed to focus my energy somewhere else. I used working out to escape and to get happy.”
In July 2022, Meg shared the first video of her “Hottie Boot Camp” on TikTok.
