The Longhorns are no longer undefeated.

No. 1 Texas couldn’t overcome a poor first-half performance against No. 5 Georgia on Saturday night, losing by the final score of 30-15.

Quinn Ewers had issues with turnovers throughout the game, as he threw an interception in the first quarter and fumbled the ball twice.

The Longhorns fell in an early 20-0 hole with Ewers in the game, prompting head coach Steve Sarkisian to briefly insert backup Arch Manning into the contest. Manning also couldn’t get into any rhythm in the pocket against Georgia’s defense, completing three of his six throws for 19 yards.

Ewers was eventually put back into the game to start the second half. He finished 25-of-43 for 211 yards and two touchdowns to go along with three turnovers as fans called out his struggles.

Steven Padillas @Falcons_PadI’ve seen enough of Quinn Ewers for the last two seasons to know he’s not really a guy. Arch Manning is the better player man. It’s that obvious!

Roosh @RooshWilliamsGot a lotta love for Quinn Ewers, but his inability to run, to throw on the run, and to be effective without a clean pocket is such a difficult thing to overcome at times

Wilson @TitansTalkGuyQuinn Ewers isn’t a high level college starter much less a NFL starter.

He’s not good enough..

Joe Fortenbaugh @JoeFortenbaughCan’t stick with Ewers after this one. Biggest game of the season, on home turf and he was nowhere to be found. His floor may be higher than Manning’s, but Texas isn’t winning a title with a high floor QB.

Texas started to gain some momentum in the third quarter, scoring on the team’s first possession of the second half. The Longhorns were able to cut the deficit to 23-15 following a controversial pass interference ruling on an interception, but they were never able to get closer to the Bulldogs for the remainder of the contest.

Georgia scored a touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter to push its lead to double-digits once more, sealing the win.

The Bulldogs overcame a subpar performance from Carson Beck, who passed for just 175 yards and threw three interceptions.

In addition to Ewers, fans criticized the team as a whole.

Brandon Adams @DawgNationDailyGeorgia came on the road to No. 1 Texas in the biggest crowd in the history of their stadium and whooped em wire to wire. Only time the Longhorns showed any fight was to throw trash on their field. How bout them Dawgs!!!

Ali @XoAliThis is all I’m going to say about Texas.

Welcome to the SEC, baby! 👍🏻

Texas and Georgia now own identical 6-1 records following Saturday’s result.
