R-Truth finally nets WrestleMania win as fans hail ‘chaotic’ ladder match with new champs crowned

R-Truth has finally won a WrestleMania match, netting the WWE Raw tag team titles in a frantic six-pack ladder match.

The 52-year-old veteran snared the red brand’s championships alongside The Miz in Philadelphia, the Awesome Truth one of two new sets of champs crowned in the bout.

After almost two years, the titles have been parted following a thrilling ladder match that wowed fans at WrestleMania XL.

Awesome Truth claimed the Raw gold while A-Town Down Under, the team of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller, won the SmackDown championships.

The all-action affair also featured previous incumbents The Judgement Day, The New Day, brit duo The New Catch Republic and DIY.

In one scary moment, DIY’s Jonny Gargano sent Pete Dunne hurtling through a table with a sickening landing courtesy of a DDT – the table snapping clean in two.

Gargano’s team mate Tommaso Ciampa nailed Tyler Bate with an Air Raid Crash from the top of a ladder.

After Waller had snatched the blue brand titles for his team, Judgement Day’ s JD McDonagh tried to interfere to aid Damian Priest but was sent through a table himself for good measure.

It was an almost universally popular ending on social media, with fans thrilled to see the veteran finally given his ‘WrestleMania moment.’
