Raiders fans pounding the table for Antonio Pierce to be fired after latest loss

The Las Vegas Raiders are a completely lost franchise right now, and that was never more evident than during the Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, which was a pathetic showing for head coach Antonio Pierce’s team.

We saw a little bit of everything in the loss. Gardner Minshew relieved an injured Aidan O’Connell and had a legendarily putrid performance, as he turned the ball over four times with three interceptions and a fumble that was brought back for a score.

Then, we saw cornerback Jack Jones once again looking like he had completely given up late in the game, which isn’t the first time that has happened. And, last but not least, Pierce made yet another scared fourth-down decision, which has become commonplace during his Raiders tenure.

With Las Vegas down 20-12 and at the Rams’ nine-yard line with 2:46 remaining in the game, Pierce decided to kick a field goal instead of trying to go for it. Las Vegas did end up getting the ball back with 1:39 left on the clock, but Minshew tossed his third and final pick to seal the deal.

But, let’s be real, there was no shot the Raiders were going to get down the field again in that short amount of time with how pathetic their offense was.

After the game, Pierce said he would’ve gone for it if not for the false start by rookie right tackle DJ Glaze.

— Jesse Merrick (@JesseNews3LV) October 20, 2024The Raiders now sit at 2-5 on the season and have lost four of their last five games. Three of those losses were in blowout fashion, including one at the hands of arguably the worst team in the NFL, the Carolina Panthers.

After getting the most out of his team last season when he was the interim head coach, Pierce has gotten the exact opposite in 2024. Players are regularly posting poor performances, and there are even guys quitting on the team, like Jones and Davante Adams did.

Talent is certainly an issue, but the Raiders not looking competitive at all is an issue that lands on the head coach, also. Knowing that, Raiders fans have seen enough of Pierce and are ready to cut him loose.

“Antonio pierce had to bet the raiders,” one fan said about Pierce’s fourth-down decision. “That’s simply an inexplicable call for a pathetic team.”

“Fire Antonio Pierce,” another fan said. “The players are done with him.”

“Raiders, time for a coaching change,” another fan said. “Antonio Pierce isn’t getting the job done.”

“Antonio Pierce is the kinda guy you want as your linebackers coach and he’s the guy you never want as your head coach,” one fan declared.

It’s hard to argue with the sentiment fans have right now. The Raiders look like a total dumpster fire under Pierce and the team has to make a decision about whether or not it wants to stick with the head coach as the franchise prepares for a rebuild in the years to come. Right now, it’s clear they shouldn’t.
