Lamar Jackson is a two-time MVP and one of the most dynamic offensive weapons in football, but maybe he can add “scout” to his résumé too.
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told Nick Shook of NFL.com that the star quarterback will be tasked with doing some scouting ahead of April’s NFL draft, namely when it comes to offensive lineman prospects.
“We’ll see who he likes. He looks at guys on tape,” he said. “And he’s never been shy about giving his opinion on free agents or the draft. He hasn’t weighed in quite yet, but he will.”
The Ravens need to revamp the offensive line this offseason after both starting guards departed in free agency—Kevin Zeitler signed with the Detroit Lions and John Simpson signed with the new York Jets—and right tackle Morgan Moses was traded to the Jets.
Luckily for Baltimore, this year’s draft is considered a strong one for offensive line. Now, it just comes down to who the front office, coaching staff—and of course the star quarterback—identifies as the right fit.
