The Spain international underwent medical examination after being unable to take part in team training over the last few days.

On Friday, Real Madrid released a statement to confirm that the Espanyol loanee had sustained an injury to his right ankle.

The statement read: “After the tests carried out on our player Joselu by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with bone edema in his right ankle. Evolution pending”.

While Real Madrid have not disclosed a time frame for Joselu’s recovery,
