Report: Terem Moffi to make quick return after ACL injury
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is expected to return to action for Nice in February after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of the season, Soccernet.ng reports.
Moffi had a decent campaign with Nice last season, producing eleven goals and two assists in the Ligue 1. He was looking to improve on that performance this season, but he sustained an ACL injury during Nice’s pre-season training camp in August.
That injury has kept him out of Nice’s first ten games of the Ligue 1 campaign. Recall that he was supposed to spend up to nine months on the sidelines as with most ACL injuries.
Ordinarily, Moffi is supposed to return to action in March 2025. But it appears he may return to action a bit earlier.
According to French journalist Fabio, Moffi is recovering quickly and is set to make an earlier return in late January or February.
That is great news for Nice, as he will add some bite to their attack. Les Aiglons have scored 19 goals and sit 5th in the league this season, with Ivory Coast star Evann Guessand as their highest goalscorer.
Moffi would also provide an option for coach Eguavoen and the Super Eagles, as aside from Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface, most top Nigerian strikers in Europe are struggling.
