Texas quarterback Arch Manning reportedly will not opt into EA Sports College Football 25, per OrangeBloods’ Anwar Richardson.
According to Richardson, Manning wants to keep his focus on the field.
The game, set to release this summer, will feature all 134 FBS teams. EA announced that over 10,000 athletes have already opted to be featured in the game, and athletes who opt in will receive at least $600 plus a free copy of the game.
Quinn Ewers, Texas’ 2023 starter and the expected starting quarterback next season, has already opted in, so Longhorn fans will at least have one of their favorite quarterbacks available. Ewers had 3,479 passing yards and 22 touchdowns last season, leading Texas to a College Football Playoff appearance.
Manning saw limited action during his freshman season at Texas, completing a pair of passes for 30 yards while playing backup to Ewers. Manning, the No. 1 prospect in the class of 2022 according to 247Sports’ composite list, will be looking to earn a starting spot during the offseason, but it will be a challenge going up against Ewers.
Perhaps keeping his focus solely on his development rather than his status in EA Sports College Football 25 will pay dividends.
