Robert Pattinson Is Fully Unbothered By Suki Waterhouse Singing About Her Exes

Suki Waterhouse found a love worth singing about with Robert Pattinson.

In a new interview with British Vogue, published Tuesday, she described Pattinson as ā€œquite an anxious person” in general, but there’s one area where he’s notably secure: Waterhouseā€™s music, including songs about her exes.

Pattinson has ā€œa lot of humor about that kind of stuff,ā€ she said. ā€œHe couldnā€™t really give a shit. Heā€™s like, ā€˜No oneā€™s better than me, so whatever.ā€™ā€

She and Pattinson, who have been together for some six years, have ā€œa love that is really pure,ā€ she said, but ā€œI can get mad for my friendsā€ for songwriting inspiration.

And Pattinson doesnā€™t have a free pass forever, just because of that pure love, sparkly as a vampireā€™s skin in the sunlight. ā€œRob can still get a shitty song. You can find things to be pissed about,ā€ she said. For one, she notes that ā€œheā€™s always got very strong opinions,ā€ like saying she ā€œshould do an EDM track.ā€

Today, she and Pattinson, both Brits by birth, currently live in Los Angeles with their three-month-old daughter, but they first met during a gathering where guests were playing the party game Werewolf with some notable names.

ā€œIt was very, very intense. There were lots of ā€˜bigā€™ characters, real heavy hitters,ā€ she said. ā€œAl Pacino was there. Javier [Bardem] and PenĆ©lope [Cruz] were thereā€¦ and, you know, everyone was really acting.ā€

They bonded over their ā€œsame slight uncomfortable-nessā€ and through the night ā€œstarted giggling at the absurdity of the whole thingā€ to the point where they ā€œgot told off. There was a director that separated us because we were laughing too much.ā€

She eventually realized that ā€œI light up when Iā€™m aroundā€ Pattinson, and that living in LA ā€œdefinitely became a lot more fun when I met him.ā€ A move back to the U.K., however, is ā€œat the forefront of our minds,ā€ she said.

Waterhouse welcomed the couple’s daughter two days after she finished recording her album Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, which will be released in September. Motherhood, she said, has enabled her to blow off others’ opinions. ā€œYou just have to go, ā€˜This is what weā€™re doing, this is what weā€™re about and fuck what anyone else thinks.ā€™ā€

As for Pattinson, Waterhouse credited both him and a stacked rap playlist for helping her through the birth process. ā€œHe was there with me and like all dads, he was really nervous, but for someone whoā€™s quite an anxious person, heā€™s been very calm,ā€ she said, calling him ā€œthe dad I could have hoped for.ā€
