Robertson hits back in style to set pace at Championship League

Former European Masters champion Jimmy Robertson edged ahead at the top of Group 4 in the Championship League on Wednesday.
Robertson lost his first two matches to former world champions John Higgins (2-3) and Neil Robertson (0-3), who produced a 135 in closing out victory, but hit back in style with wins over Barry Hawkins (3-1) and Kyren Wilson (3-0) helping him rise to the summit on frames won with two points from four matches.
Bexhill potter Roberston finished with a knock of 128 against Hawkins, who opened the match with a fine run of 105.
Hawkins, Xiao Guodong, Wilson and Neil Robertson are also on two points, while Ricky Walden and Higgins remain firmly in the frame to progress on one point.
The champion from each group qualifiers for the winners’ group on March 1 and 2, with the other top four players continuing to Group 4 as the bottom two players are eliminated at the end of each group.
The winner of the Championship League also earns a spot in the Champion of Champions later this year.
