Rolex 24 at Daytona: TV channel, live streams, schedule to watch 2024 endurance race

The 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season kicks off with the 62nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The championship is a 24-hour endurance race and is divided into four classes, all competing on the track at the same time.

Those four divisions include two prototype classes — Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) and Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) — and two sports-car classes — Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD).

A total of 12 manufacturers will participate in the series’ four classes. That number of automakers grows to 17 when adding the Michelin Pilot Challenge series.

The manufacturers participating in the race are Acura, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, Mazda, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche.

The Rolex 24 also includes several Formula One drivers, including 2009 champion Jenson Button (Wayne Taylor Racing Andretti Acura in GTP) and former Ferrari winner Felipe Massa (Riley 74 Ranch Resort in LMP2).

There will be at least 12 full-time IndyCar drivers in the field, including Alex Palou and Josef Newgarden, who is the Indy 500 champion and racing in the Rolex 24 for the second time.

Six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon (Cadillac Racing), seven-time IndyCar winner Colton Herta (WTR Andretti), 2022 Indy 500 winner Marcus Ericsson (WTR Andretti) and Tom Blomqvist (Action Express Cadillac) are racing in the GTP hybrid prototype.

Other IndyCar winners participating in the Rolex 24 include Pato O’Ward (LMP2 United Autosports), Scott McLaughlin (LMP2, Tower Motorsports), Felix Rosenqvist (LMP2 United Autosports), Alexander Rossi (GTD Pro, Pfaff Motorsports) and Kyle Kirkwood (GTD Pro, Vasser Sullivan).

In addition, six-time IndyCar winner James Hinchcliffe will drive in the GTD Pro race and also offer analysis on the broadcast when he isn’t driving.

There currently are no NASCAR full-time drivers who are racing in the Rolex 24 this year.

The Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian GTP Acura won the overall competition in 2023 with Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun, Helio Castroneves and Simon Pagenaud as the drivers.
