My first RPG memory was getting a NES when I was five along with Zelda II and not knowning why I kept losing points every time I leveled up one of his stats. I also got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the same time, which makes me wonder how I still enjoy video games today…

Awesome show last week. Dungeon Travelers 2, Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, Jack Devereux in Days of our Lives, and Chris’s “my heart will go on, but the podcast is over” line. Perfection!

First RPG was on the Commodore 64, Temple of Apshi, many great hours spent with my buddy Dave doing this game 2 player with one of us controlling movement, the other hitting attack or arrow keys.

First console JRPG was the original Dragon Warrior that I got for free, just months after all my friends because my grandmother got my Nintendo Power subscription sent to her house to surprise me at Christmas. The rest is podcasting history.

I know I told this story before, but I may as well recount it again. The first RPG I ever played was Pokemon. I already become a fan of the anime and I got the Game Boy game for my 12th birthday. When I played it for the first time, I could not figure out how to leave the house. I gave the game to my sister and she walked right out. I guess I just didn’t realize what that rectangle on the floor was.

I remember going to a friend’s house and seeing the Dragon Warrior NES game at his house. We played it for a while, but did not get very far. We started to understand it after some kids in class explained what to do. I believe they got the information from the Nintendo power issue featuring Dragon Warrior.

My first RPG Memory was my father bringing home Dragon Warrior for the NES after a deployment he had to Cuba while he was in the Navy.

While I played Pokémon and Azure Dreams (GBC) before, my first proper RPG memory is the opening parts of Golden Sun.
