Russell Westbrook designed top WNBA prospect’s draft outfit

One of Russell Westbrook’s fashion designs has made it to the WNBA Draft.

Kentucky guard Georgia Amoore revealed Monday that her draft night fit was designed personally by Westbrook. On the red carpet prior to the draft, Amoore revealed that her black leather blazer and skirt were the work of Westbrook and his Honor the Gift fashion label.

“Russell Westbrook actually designed it. I told him what I wanted and he ran with the fabric,” Amoore revealed.

In a Vogue story about the collaboration , Westbrook voiced his excitement about being able to “[break] down those barriers between men’s and women’s sports.” The Denver Nuggets guard handled most of the design work himself, and the outfit has been in the works for months.

Westbrook is a longtime fashion enthusiast, and he launched his own clothing line in 2017. While not all of his looks have received rave reviews, he seems to have kept this one relatively simple, and Amoore was certainly pleased with it.

Amoore averaged 19.6 points and 6.9 assists per game for the Wildcats last season. She is expected to be a first-round pick in Monday’s WNBA Draft.
