Saoirse Ronan Marries Jack Lowden in Private Wedding Ceremony
Saoirse Ronan’s Reason For Joining “Little Women”
Saoirse Ronan is officially off the market.
While the Little Women star earned her fourth Oscar nomination playing a character who insists sheâll never marry, Saoirse made it clear she doesnât share the trait as she tied the knot with Jack Lowden.
According to the register of Scottish civil marriages records, Saoirse Una Ronan, 30, married Jack Andrew Lowden, 34, at the Edinburgh Central Registrarâs Office. The Independent, citing the Irish Independent, reports that the nuptials occurred the weekend of July 20.
The pair wed in an intimate ceremony with only a few of their closest friends and family present, the outlet noted.
Jack and Saoirseâs romance got the rumor mill spinning towards the end of 2018, shortly after their film Mary Queen of Scots was released, in which Saoirse played the titular Mary and Jack played the doomed monarchâs husband Lord Darnley.Â
While Jack and Saoirse kept mum on their romance for a long time, in the years following their film together they each began to make the occasional appearance on the Dunkirk alumâs social media.
And in July of 2023, Jack fanned the flames of their rumored relationship when he shared a series of images from a hiking trip to Ben Vrackie in the Scottish Highlandâincluding one that looked to be Saoirse hand with a diamond ring on that finger.

Though in sticking to tradition, neither Jack nor the Lady Bird actress reacted to the speculation that began to run rampant in the postâs comment section.
Despite keeping the details of their romance under wraps, the Slow Horses star has not shied away from praising his partnerâs talent. Â
âMy first love is actors,â Jack, who produced Saoirseâs new film The Outrun alongside his longtime love, told i Newspaper last year. âAnd when youâre given a Ferrari like her, itâs all about how you make everything good for the Ferrari to show off. Donât make a Ferrari do what a Renault Clio does. Itâs a dreadful analogy but theyâre like gold dust, good actors. When thereâs someone like that, you just have to facilitate them and you will get gold. And my God, did we.â
And despite keeping their romance low key, they are aware of the interest surrounding their partnership.
âHer and I donât find that odd,â he admitted. âWeâre hugely appreciative of the level of scrutiny we have. Weâre treated well but we donât seek it either. People have got it far worse. Itâs also obviously of our own making. As long as weâve got each other, weâre alright with any of that.â
