Amazon is offering a Refurbished Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K PRO-UHD Laser Projector for only $2799.99. That’s an excellent deal considering the fact that this same projector goes for $4000 new with discounts happening few and far between. This is one of Epson’s highest end projecors and it’s a nice upgrade over the venerable 5050UB thanks to its long lasting laser array light source, excellent contrast ratio and black levels, and 4-way pixel shift 4K resolution.

Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K Laser Projector (Refurb) for $2799.99

Epson Home Cinema LS11000 4K PRO-UHD Laser Projector

The Epson Home Cinema LS11000 is easily the best projector for displaying 4K content at this price point. Previously, that claim was reserved for the 5050UB, which has been definitely showing its age nearly 5 years after its release. This is a 3-chip LCD projector that uses 4-way pixel shifting to achieve a simulated 4K resolution. It’s noticeably sharper than the 5050UB, which uses 2-way pixel shifting. The technology is incredibly good; at standard seating distance it’s nearly indistinguishable to a native 4K image and a heck of a lot sharper than a traditional 1080p image.

Whereas the 5050UB uses a traditional bulb that needs to be regularly replaced every 3,000 to 5,000 hours according to Epson, the LS11000 uses a laser array light source that lasts well over 20,000 hours. Bulbs aren’t cheap either; replacements cost around $110, so you’re savings can be substantial over time if you regularly use your projector. The LS11000 is also easy to position thanks to its 3-way motorized lens shift.

The LS11000 does an exemplary job of replicating the 5050UB’s outstanding contrast ratio and black levels. It boasts a 2500 lumen brightness rating, which is comparable to the 5050UB. However, it’s able to maintain this brightness over the entire lifespan of the light source. The 5050UB starts out pretty bright with a brand new bulb, but the brightness degrades over time as it sees more use.

The LS11000 makes for an excellent gaming projector as well. It supports 4K @ 120Hz gaming over HDMI 2.1 with the current generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X gaming consoles, which is uncommon in all but the newest projectors. It also supports 4K@120Hz on your gaming PC as long as it’s equipped with a GeForce RTX 40 series GPU or a AMD Radeon RX 6800 or newer GPU.

At $4000, many reviewers praised this projector for its excellent value. To get this kind of performance and features from other brands could cost you thousands more. Fortunately for you, as long as you’re willing to try out a refurbished model, you’re getting a significantly lower price with this deal. It’s covered by Amazon’s 90-day warranty (you can return or replace it anytime during this period). I did email Epson to see if there’s any official warranty attached to this. They haven’t reached back yet, but my gut says probably not.
