Say WHAT?! Woman Arrested For Allegedly Murdering 16-Year-Old Mother & Cutting Unborn Baby Out Of Her Womb

Nataly Helen Martins Pereira, a 25-year-old woman in Brazil, has been arrested for allegedly murdering Emilly Azevedo Sena, a 16-year-old mother, and cutting her unborn baby out of her womb.

“She said she had received a lot of baby clothes and wanted to donate some to Emilly,” Sena’s mother, Paula Meridiane, reportedly told a Brazilian news outlet.

However, the following day, Sena’s body was discovered buried in the woman’s backyard. Furthermore, police reportedly noted that the 16-year-old’s body was found with cuts. They reportedly believe once Sena arrived Pereira strangled her and hung her body with internet cables.

“T-shaped marks on her abdomen indicated that she was still alive when the baby was taken with a bladed weapon,” Police Chief Caio Alexandre reportedly stated.

To note, TooFab reports that Sena was 9 months pregnant at the time of the attack.

More Details On The Arrest Of The 25-Year-Old Woman In Brazil Who Allegedly Took The Baby From Mom’s WombPrior to the discovery of the 16-year-old’s body, Pereira and her husband, 28-year-old Christian de Arruda, arrived at a hospital with the child. They reportedly claimed that “the baby had been born at home.” Upon the medical staffers’ suspicions, and gynecological tests performed on Pereira, they determined she was not postpartum. Subsequently, they reported the instance to police.

Per the outlet, Nataly Pereira’s attorneys have asserted that she suffered a miscarriage last year. However, she “went on pretending like she was still pregnant.”

“According to calculations, this daughter she had lost would have been born during this period,” they reportedly added.

According to the outlet, de Arruda alleged that “he believed his wife had given birth and did not know about Sena’s murder.”

At this time, police in Brazil are still investigating the case as de Arruda and two others will reportedly continue to be questioned. Per TooFab, Pereira has been charged with “concealment of a corpse, and registering someone else’s birth as her own.”

Furthermore, the outlet notes that the 16-year-old’s child is reportedly in the custody of Sena’s family.

A Mother In Missouri Is Behind Bars For The Death Of Her ChildA mother in Missouri is also in the headlines following the death of her child. As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, Alyssa Wehmeyer was taken into custody and charged with “one count of abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death.”

Police reportedly believe Wehmeyer failed to feed her 1-year-old for over 40 hours. This reportedly resulted in the child’s severe malnutrition, dehydration, and death.
