Second Season of ‘Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsuujinai’ Announced

A second season for Kuroiwa Medaka ni Watashi no Kawaii ga Tsuujinai (Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms) was announced following the broadcast of its 12th and final episode on Tuesday. The official X (formerly Twitter) account also posted a commemorative illustration by the original creator Ran Kuze (pictured).

Produced by SynergySP, the anime series adapting Kuze’s romantic comedy manga premiered on January 7, roughly covering the first five volumes. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with multiple subtitles and an English dub.

Kuze originally published the manga, abbreviated as Medakawa, as a one-shot in Weekly Shounen Magazine in December 2020, where it began regular serialization in May 2021. Kodansha published the 18th volume on February 17, with the 19th volume planned for a May 16 release. Medakawa has a cumulative 2 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in February 2022. The 15th e-book volume was released on January 21, with the tenth physical volume shipped on February 11. The 16th e-book and 11th physical volumes are planned for an April 15 and May 13 release, respectively. Kodanshas K Manga service also simulpublishes the manga.
