Selena Gomez Just Made a Serious Case for Bright Orange Nails

After wearing daring colors like butter yellow and cherry red, the Rare Beauty founder is embracing another bright nail polish shade, marking the return of citrus girl summer.
Her latest hue of choice? None other than an especially eye-catching shade of vivid blood orange that so happens to be reminiscent of both the juicy citrus fruit, but also a cult-favorite summer drink.
Gomezâs go-to nail artist Tom Bachik shared a BTS photo of the look to his Instagram, hinting at the drink that may have inspired the style. âOrange Julius vibes,â Bachik wrote in the caption, followed by the orange and cup with straw emojis.
In case you donât frequent your local mallâs food court and are therefore unfamiliar with Bachikâs reference, Orange Julius is a beverage chain best known for their eponymous Orange Julius drink. Both the delicious libation and the brandâs logo are the same shade of bright orange as Gomezâs manicure.
As Iâve said time and time again, orange is somehow one of the most underrated nail colors. Not only is orange bold and chic, but it works for a variety of seasons. Obviously, itâs ideal for spring and fall because of how bright it is. But! You can also get away with wearing orange well into fall and autumn since thatâs when pumpkins and gourds reign supreme.
Also of note? According to color magic, orange is the best nail polish color to wear to job interviews since it manifests creativity, expression, and joy. Not that Selena Gomez is applying for an office job or anything, but she was just nominated for her first Emmy, which isâŠsort of similar.
