Senior Bowl final score, results, highlights: Spencer Rattler earns MVP in 2024 NFL Draft showcase
With just Super Bowl 58 remaining in the NFL season, all but two teams already are have their eyes toward the future — namely, the 2024 NFL Draft.
One of the biggest events to watch ahead of the draft is the Senior Bowl, which capped a week of practice and preparation with its showcase game at Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Alabama.
Several players boosted their draft stock in a big way, while others saw theirs slide.
The strength of the quarterback class stood out, though many of the signal-callers were inconsistent through the week of practice. Expected first-round picks Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix participated in the festivities, but Michael Pratt of Tulane and Spencer Rattler of South Carolina shined the brightest.
On game day, Washington’s Penix was among the roughly 30 opt-outs from the National team, as players from both teams elected not to play in the game despite participating in the preparation. With the absence of Penix, nearly all of the responsibility at quarterback fell to Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman, who struggled through the air but had a few bright moments in the ground game.
Among the biggest standouts were Rattler, who earned the MVP award, as well as Rice wide receiver Luke McCaffrey, Mississippi State defender Nathaniel Watson, Missouri running back Cody Schrader and TCU running back Emani Bailey.
