Serena Williams Has the Most Relatable Message for Postpartum Moms Who Don’t Feel ‘Picture Perfect’
Just under six months after giving birth to her daughter Adira River Ohanian, tennis legend Serena Williams is showing her postpartum body some love.
The champion athlete posted a picture of herself in a white two-piece swimsuit on the deck of a yacht, relaxing in sunglasses and looking generally blissful while holding her baby girl against her shoulder.
In the caption she reflected on her body’s journey from winner of tournaments to maker of children: “Loving yourself is essential. I find that I have to remind myself of that self-love through all different stages in my life. Right now I love that my body is not picture perfect. I love that I smell like milk — that milk sustains @adiraohanian I love getting to know a new version of my body,” she wrote, telling followers, “It is a change, but it’s a change that has been well worth it. So start this week, knowing that you are loved, and that starts with you. Ok, now I’m about to go to the gym 🤪 Serena.”
