‘Sergeant Mike Vrabel NOT Messing Around’ – Patriots Fans React As Team Makes Bold Move After New Head Coach Hire
The New England Patriots officially announced Mike Vrabel as their new head coach earlier this week. He replaced Jerod Mayo, who was fired after just one season with the team.
Vrabel now has the responsibility to rebuild the Patriots with Drake Maye at quarterback, who impressed everyone in his rookie season. New England went 4-13 this season, and per reports, the franchise made a big decision just days after Vrabel’s arrival, which pleased the fans.

Patriots Fans React to Team’s Decision After Mike Vrabel’s Arrival
Per Kirk Minihane, the Patriots have parted ways with Robyn Glaser, who served as a senior adviser to Mayo and was also the executive VP of football business. She served as a senior executive with Robert Kraft’s “The Kraft Group” since 2007 and received a promotion last year following Bill Belichick’s departure.
Patriots fans believe her involvement with the team wasn’t effective, as the team won just four games this past season, resulting in Mayo’s dismissal.
Fans think Vrabel has enough control over the team, which is a positive sign considering how things went under the previous head coach.

“Something tells me Vrabel has almost all control. Not exactly what BB [Bill Belichick] had but pretty damn close. If [Eliot] Wolf gets 86’d then Vrabel has the control BB had,” said a fan.
Another fan added, “This somehow excites me more than Vrabel getting hired. Let’s get back to sensibility and tough gritty football.”

“Somewhere Bill is laughing quietly to himself,” wrote a fan.
“Vrabel getting s**t done already I love it,” added one fan.
It sounds like Vrabel had some inside dope on where the organizational problems were.

Things have looked rough for the Patriots organization since Belichick’s departure, and the Kraft family might have to change some of their ways for the team to be successful again.
Vrabel is an excellent hire for the team, as his time with the Tennessee Titans proves he can bring the best out of the players and instantly change the culture of the franchise.
Vrabel Needs To Add More Talent Around Drake Maye
For Vrabel to be successful with the Patriots, he and Wolf have to add more talent around Maye. The quarterback played quite well in his rookie season and showed that he has the potential to become a superstar in the league.
Maye finished as PFN’s 19th-ranked QB per the QB+ metric, which assigns a letter grade to every quarterback performance and factors in a number of stats such as success rate when pressured, third-down conversion rate, pocket production, and clutch performance.
However, for that to happen, the team needs to prioritize spending money in free agency on offensive players. The Patriots are projected to have $127.6 million in cap space next season, and they have enough resources to sign the right players for the team. The AFC East team also has the fourth overall pick in the upcoming draft, which can be used to strengthen the offensive line.
Tee Higgins should be the Patriots’ biggest priority in free agency, as the Cincinnati Bengals wideout can help Maye reach his potential. The Patriots could also trade for a receiver as they have the money to offer big extensions.
Vrabel can improve the quality of defensive players that are currently on the roster, but on offense, he needs some new faces. The Patriots should surround Maye with better players, as this will boost his confidence and help the franchise avoid the mistakes they made with Mac Jones, who also had a great rookie season.
