Shara Magomedov underwent successful surgery just hours after his come-from-behind UFC Abu Dhabi win

Shara Magomedov suffered a brutal injury during his UFC Abu Dhabi return this past Saturday, and he wasn’t waiting around to fix the issue.

After suffering his first loss in professional MMA last time out against Michael ā€˜Venom’ Page, Russian phenom Shara Magomedov knew he had to bounce back in an impressive way to keep some hype.

And with that, the promotion matched him up against the tough Canadian Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC Abu Dhabi this past Saturday.

Despite wanting to put on a show in front of the fans, Shara ā€˜Bullet’ had to overcome early adversity to eventually come out with the unanimous decision win.

However, in round two the 31-year-old was caught with a huge counter overhand by Barriault which immediately broke the nose of Magomedov, who began leaking blood all over the canvas.

Somehow the Russian fought through the brutal injury and went on to dominate again in the final round, bouncing back with the win. Following the fight, he had a shot fired his way by Dricus Du Plessis, who he could eventually end up fighting for the title.

Not long after, Magomedov took to social media with a two-word message, notifying his fans that he’s back after suffering his first loss earlier this year.

And after suffering such a brutal nose break, ā€˜Bullet’ didn’t wait around to get the injury repaired as he underwent surgery just hours after his win.

According to Red Corner MMA, Shara ā€˜Bullet’ will remain in hospital in Abu Dhabi for 1-2 days following successful nose surgery.

What’s next for Shara Magomedov?Despite still being considered as a prospect in the middleweight division, Magomedov is 31 years old and is quickly growing out of his ā€˜prospect’ title.

Having dropped out of the 185lb rankings following his loss to ā€˜MVP’, the Russian will likely be hoping to fight a top 15 opponent again next.

Currently occupying rank 11 is Marvin Vettori who is coming off another loss and will likely need to defend his ranking next time out.
