Shock footage appears to show Oleksandr Usyk being arrested as he makes his way to Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight

Shocking footage has emerged appearing to show Oleksandr Usyk being arrested at Krakow Airport.

The Ukrainian fighter was spotted being led away by uniformed officers with his hands behind his back.

Usyk appears to have been arrested in KrakowCredit: X: @United24mediaAs it stands the circumstances around his arrest are unclear, however, those close to him are now relaxed about the situation.

Usyk’s wife Kateryna took to social media to reassure fans, saying: “Everything is fine, everything is fine.

“Oleksandr will explain everything later. Nothing criminal, goodnight everyone.”

Meanwhile, Ukrainian president Volodomyr Zelenskyy said in a statement: “Talked on the phone with Oleksandr Usyk when he was detained.

“I was outraged by this attitude towards our citizen and champion.

“He instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiza and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko to immediately find out all the details of the incident at the Krakow airport.

“As soon as I was informed that everything is fine, our champion was released and no one is detaining him anymore.”

Usyk is on his way to London where he is expected to attend Anthony Joshua’s blockbuster fight with Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The British duo will face off in front of more than 90,000 supporters with Usyk hopeful of being in attendance.

‘DDD’ was the holder of the IBF interim strap but has now been upgraded following Usyk’s decision to vacate his title to allow this fight to happen for the full world title.

Of course, Usyk defeated both Joshua and Dubois before turning his attention to Tyson Fury.

Usyk is in training ahead of his rematch with Fury on December 21.

The 37-year-old claimed victory over the Gypsy King on May 24 in Saudi Arabia and will be hoping to do the same again in Riyadh this winter.

“Now we have started, we’re going to the training camp,” he said earlier this month.

“From the last fight with Tyson Fury, I learned a lot about him, a lot of the things that I saw in the fight I didn’t see on TV with all the fights that I saw of Tyson Fury.
