Si Woo Kim hole-in-one: Golfer continues ascent up PGA Championship leaderboard with Round 2 ace

For the second time in as many days, the 2025 PGA Championship had a hole-in-one.

During Thursday’s Round 1, Eric Cole took the spotlight when he took just one swing to advance past Hole 4 at Quail Hollow Golf Club, doing so from 184 yards out. But Cole found himself one-upped by one of the leading golfers at the major on Friday.

Si Woo Kim, who finished Round 2 of the PGA Championship among the golfers beating out big names like Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau, notched a hole-in-one on Friday afternoon.

Already with two birdies over his first two holes, Kim came into Hole 6 at Quail Hollow with some momentum. Teeing off from 252 yards out, Kim found even more luck.

On the Par 3 hole, Kim gained two more strokes on the leaderboard by sinking an ace. He threw his club into the air and ran in celebration.

Who is Si Woo Kim?Kim is a 29-year-old PGA Tour golfer who has five professional wins. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and turned professional in 2012 after becoming the youngest player to graduate from the PGA Tour’s qualifying school. Kim has also played on the European Tour and Web.com Tour.

Kim’s first PGA Tour win came at the 2016 Wyndham Championship, and his second was at the 2017 Player’s Championship. Kim’s other victories include The American Express in 2021 and the Sony Open in 2023.

He has not won a major, but he has finished in the top 15 of all four majors. Kim’s best finish was tied for 12th at the 2021 Masters.
